Welcome to the Atrocissimus

As I've explained before, the Atrocissimus is ruled over by demons; but what, exactly, is a demon? In my first book, The House on Blackstone Hill , I have this to say about demons: This world of which I speak is one ruled over by legions of demons, evil fallen angels tormented by their Satanic master to a hatred that has become madness. Their only wish is to inflict unending misery on humanity, whom they hold responsible for the fall. They use as many different fell tools in this torture as possible, so it is also a world in which monsters, evil spirits, and nightmarish creatures beyond counting are all horribly true. These vile creatures lurk in the deep, dark shadows of the world, creatures used to horrify, plague, or simply slaughter as many humans as possible.  But that doesn't actually go into too much detail, so let me flesh that out a little bit here. Although the Atrocissimus is ruled over by demons who, by their nature, are chaos and mayhem and destruction incarnate, it still has a fair amount of implacable rules. As I reveal the nature of the Infestissumam itself and write these cautionary tales of horror, I will also be documenting the rules by which the demonic hoards exist.  What follows is a partial list of the rules of the Atrocissimus. As it becomes relevant to share others later I will do so. Demons do not kill people – death is utterly irrelevant to the demons. They either already have the soul of an evil person or have already lost the soul of saved person, so killing people helps them not one bit. What they do is to torment, twist, pervert, and torture people. Not only does this give them great, wicked delight, but in so doing they can manipulate humans into doing as much horror as possible – including killing. What is the Atrocissimus ? The word itself comes from Latin, meaning "the most hostile" or "the firecest" and is a convenient single word to encapsulate the world of horror I've set out to expose. This unknown, arcane world is indeed the most hostile, most cruel, and most evil. It's hatred and loathing for you as a mere human is beyond measure or description. The demons and other foul creation that prowl around in it want to destroy you, torment you, tear you utterly to shreds. Their hatred for you is eternal, will never cool, and is all encompassing. Most hostile, indeed. As I phrase it in my first book, The House on Blackstone Hill : There is an entire world of horror, a whole universe of terror, that exists with, is entwined around, and yet is just under the surface of your normal, quotidian existence.
