It's arrived...

 After what felt like an interminable amount of time, my first book, The House on Blackstone Hill, has finally been published.


Isn't that cover art lovely? I certainly think so, though I am admittedly biased.

Adam Long is an award-winning journalist, trying to come to terms with the professional consequences of quashing a controversial news story that has ruined his reputation.

His life changes after he and his wife Ava move to a colonial mansion. Adam seems obsessed with the building, which has a long, dark history of madness and murder. Digging deeper, Ava realizes that the horror in the old mansion is much darker than they could have ever expected.

Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? I certainly think so, but again, I'm biased. 

But even though it tells a classic haunted house tale full of murder and madness, it also begins two much longer and important tales. First, it starts the exploration of the Infestissumam itself, in which we see some of the terrors that therein reside: Demons, ghosts, zombies, murderous humans best on destruction to satisfy Satan's lust. More of this world will be explored with every additional story.

This book also introduces what is for right now the greatest mystery of this entire world: Me. I write about this world of terror, this universe of demonic horrors, that exists entwined with our everyday material world with absolute awareness of the events and monsters to be found there. How do I know this? How is it I've been given this knowledge? How is it that not only do I know you've been lied to your entire life, I also know what the lie is? How is it I'm aware of the world ruled over by evil demons? This is also a mystery that will be peeled away one story at a time as we delve deeper into the Infestissumam.

Flash Fiction I: Scratches on the Window

Yes, I know, I haven't been terribly active with my blog or my other social media sites. What can I say? It's summer and, even here at the monastery, we take things more relaxed. As any of you who are familiar with my work already know, I'm not much given to flash fiction. I like to explore themes, characters, ideas, etc., and all that takes words. Lots and lots of words. But, I figured I'd give it a shot since it's a fun way to get out a few extra stories in no time at all. Rules of the Atrocissimus

Although the Atrocissimus is ruled over by demons who, by their nature, are chaos and mayhem and destruction incarnate, it still has a fair amount of implacable rules. As I reveal the nature of the Infestissumam itself and write these cautionary tales of horror, I will also be documenting the rules by which the demonic hoards exist.  What follows is a partial list of the rules of the Atrocissimus. As it becomes relevant to share others later I will do so. Demons do not kill people – death is utterly irrelevant to the demons. They either already have the soul of an evil person or have already lost the soul of saved person, so killing people helps them not one bit. What they do is to torment, twist, pervert, and torture people.
